Watching $enator Josh Hawley, Missouri's prime entrant in the GOP's nonstop "Be Like Hitler" contest, obsessively, almost lasciviously, question Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson about child pornography during Tuesday's confirmation hearings was a thing to behold to say the least. I couldn't help but wonder if he'd ever asked the same or similar questions of any of his colleagues, say Matt Gaetz, for instance. And, don't for a moment think that there aren't a ton of porn aficionados and/or pedos in congress. Why else would they continue to have nothing to say about Gaetz? And don't give me any crap about "ongoing investigations."
The scene of Hawley repeatedly questioning Judge KBJ on the subject also made me wonder why he didn't ask Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, or Neil Gorsuch the same or similar questions and whether he happened to have anything to say about Justice Clarence Thomas's well-known personal love of porn since stories of his predilection for bestiality porn and his being a bigly fan on the films of Long Dong Silver have been circulating for decades going back even befor his nomination to the court. Come to think of it, maybe in Hawley's sicko mind he was trying to draw some inferences between Thomas and Brown. Being as we know how Republicans think about certain things, it wouldn't shock me one bit. In fact, I bet it was the case.
Parting Shot: I'll leave you with this thought. While Hawley was going on and on about child porn, do you think "Ted" Cruz was sitting there telling himself "Don't get a boner. Don't get a boner!!!" If not him on that panel, who?
