I'll let the words of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez put what the 7 traitors listed in tonight's meme did in proper perspective. The Ocasio-Cortez quotes below come from a recent interview she did with Latino USA.
"Pence was taken out of the Senate chamber something like 60 seconds before these terrorist, insurrectionists got into the Senate chamber. Mike Pence was the one person, arguably, that had one of the most important roles in making sure that, procedurally, the Electoral College counts went on as proceeded. Sixty seconds could have meant potentially the difference between what we have right now and a martial state."
It was the narrowest of near misses, a "missed it by that much" moment in American History. House Minority Leader Kremlin Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Moscow Mitch McConnell have now gone public with their desperate desire to end all discussion and investigation of 1/6 which shows that they are both fully onboard with Trump and aim to bury the truth and cover-up all of the communiques and planning that went into their party's attempted coup of 1/6. It tells us that there is a lot more to the story of the treason and treachery of the party that has now fully embraced domestic terrorism and terrorists. Here's more from Rep. Ocasio-Cortez:
"If 60 seconds went differently, if a different door was opened, if a chair wasn't barricaded in a certain way, we could have a completely different reality right now... We don't want to acknowledge that that's how close we got, but that is how close we got."
60 seconds sooner and Mike Pence and who knows who else would have been murdered by Trump's maga mob and McCarthy and McConnell have zero problem with that. The same army of Pro-Trump insurgents, subversives, and traitors will try again. They are encouraged by how close they came to overthrowing the United States of America but they have other plans, too. Those plans include individual state laws which are being designed at the state level to enable states to legally use alternate groups of Electors for the Electoral College vote if the state vote doesn't go the way the powers that be in each state want. That is in addition to the white nationalist voter suppression tactics they are codifying that will prevent more and more people they don't like from voting. The party formerly known as the Republican Party is mapping out a plan to install a fascist dictatorship. There is no other way to correctly define what they are doing and way too few Americans are paying attention and, of course our corporate media is glossing over it. The 7 traitors listed above who brought in terrorists to case the Capitol Building for the next day are just the very tip of the iceberg. What lies beneath the surface and what McCarthy and McConnell are so desperate to hide is more than enough to sink the whole country.
