Oh well, I'll just say that the amount that statement surprises you has a correlation in how ridiculously naive you may have been. In other words, that opening statement is totally true. Sad to say, there is no medication for that; only the harsh lessons of reality.
Sadly, I think our species stopped learning reality's lessons a very long time ago and we are on a downhill slide. We got soft. Minds turned to mush.
