Would You Buy A Luxury Villa On The Beach Where Gaza Used To Be?

My friend Adam is closing on a vacation home in the middle of KKK country, where North Carolina meets Tennessee. He’ll probably be the only Jewish person in the county. Although not the only Zionist. Yesterday, I sent him a note and told him if the purchase isn’t complete, he might want to look at this instead. He would have no problem living in a tony little villa on the beach built on the bones of Palestinian children. Like many Zionists I’ve spoken to since the unspeakable and inexcusable brutality that took place on October 7, he has utterly dehumanized Palestinians. Actually, he did that long ago. October 7 just gave him an opportunity to celebrate dehumanization of the Palestinian people.

When the Israelis made it clear that they plan to make Gaza uninhabitable— for Palestinians at least— another Jewish friend of mine, Dorothy, who comes at this from the opposite side of the argument, told me “Just wait, the Israelis will be turning Gaza into Miami-on-the-Mediterranean when this is over.” It was gallows humor but she may have been more prescient than even she imagined. This is an ad. It says “A house of the beach is not a dream.”

On Tuesday, Brett Wilkins reported that Harey Zahav, “an Israeli company notorious for building settlements in the illegally occupied West Bank,” is eager to start selling luxury beach properties in Gaza. Yesterday, Haaretz reported it was just a sick sense of humor— a joke— by the real estate company, which had introduced it as “‘laying the groundwork for a return to Gush Katif,’ the settlements Israel evacuated from Gaza in 2005.”

“While the Israeli government funds settler organizations,” wrote Wilkins, “Harey Zahav's proposal is not believed to be state-supported. However, critics noted that Israeli Intelligence Minister Gila Gamliel has drafted a plan to forcibly expel Gazans into Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, and that a separate proposal by the right-wing think tank Misgav Institute for National Security & Zionist Strategy declared that ‘there is currently a unique and rare opportunity to evacuate the entire Gaza Strip.’ Such plans have been compared with the Nakba ethnic cleansing of more than 750,000 Arabs— by deadly violence and forced displacement— from Palestine during the establishment of the modern state of Israel in 1948.”

How does Adam justify this, you wonder? He sent me this yesterday:

The Jews are the indigenous people of the land, thousands of years before Islam ever existed. If your argument is that it's been thousands of years since the Jews lived there, it's been 75 years since the Palestinians lived there.

The Jews are no more settlers than the Arabs who conquered the entire region originally. The land was given to the Jews by the United Nations, the first thing the Arabs did was attack the Jews. Then attack again, then again and again, the Jews won every war and took land each time.

Since the Arabs suck at war, they have turned to crying on social media after they attack the Jews and retaliation comes. Name one war, one conflict started by the Jews there, just one! 

Furthermore, the progressive liberals have now adopted the radical right wing Islamists into their fold. A group that represses women and gays, a medieval culture. I think the university students in New York who march think it's 1.1 billion Jews against 6 million Arabs. They probably also think once the Palestinians have a state, it will be an LGBT-friendly Jeffersonian democracy.

In reality it's a radical right wing death cult. The Islamists on twitter and social media deny the holocaust, I see it myself, they call for the extermination of Jews. I have blocked so many accounts it's crazy...
