NAZI Women's Group Invades New York City!

-by Noah

Just in case you are so naive that you don't think the GOP's Nazi moves represent a serious threat, this past Friday, the Florida based Moms For Liberty, more accurately known as Moms For Hitler due to their book banning activities and the use of Hitler quotes in their ads and flyers (See below), came to New York's Upper East Side for an evening of propaganda and attempted indoctrination work at what they called a "Town Hall" event. Or, maybe it was a "tourist" event. To double and triple down on their obnoxious "in your face" attack on decency and American ideals, they chose the location of their event with deliberate malice. Their event was held on New York's Upper East Side at The Bohemian Benevolent & Literary Association.

In addition to the sick, twisted irony of a Nazi/Republican group, best known for book banning particularly in schools and libraries and anti-"woke" diatribes, holding their event at a literary association, please note that the choice of New York's Upper East Side by a Neo-Nazi group like Moms For Liberty has an extra vileness to it since, in the 1930s until the start the U.S. involvement in World War II, the Upper East Side was a hotbed of German spies and pro-nazi activity centered around the Amerikadeutscher Volksbund or German American Bund which, among other things featured 20 "youth groups" and training camps. The Bund is most famous for holding Nazi Rallies including, most notoriously in New York's Madison Square Garden. Eventually this German American Bund had 70 divisions across the country which is not unlike what Moms For Hitler is creating right now while America sleeps. They already claim to have 195 chapters spread among 37 states with a total membership of over 100,000. We can snicker and call them names like Klanned Karenhood and Minivan Taliban but their goals are deadly serious and they have started their anti-book crusades with attacks on not just schools and libraries (See above), but education itself. They may claim to profess American ideals but their attacks are usually founded on their racism, religious insanity, and homophobia.

For Friday's meeting in New York to happen, someone either dropped the ball or, for whatever reason, chose to look the other way. That someone goes by the name of Joseph Balaz who is the president of the Bohemian Hall. Clearly, Balaz took an "I see nothing" Sgt. Schultz approach and claimed that the Bohemian Hall's attorneys concluded "the show must go on." At best, this makes Balaz an appeaser. At worst, a Vichy style collaborator. Former City Council candidate Chris Soza had this to say:

I find it difficult to believe that the Hall cannot cancel an event sponsored by a hate group, even if that means incurring a financial penalty. In fact, I don't believe it at all and neither will the scores of outraged New Yorkers planning to show up at this event.

An extremely disingenuous or just plain damn insane opinion writer at Rupert Murdoch's New York Post named Natalya Murakhver wrote a laughable Trump rally kind of promotion piece for the paper wherein she started off by claiming that the Moms For Hitler New York show was just meant to discuss the current "state of education" in New York, not the censorship and book banning the group is known for. In her piece, Murakhver said before the group's appearance,

"I was encouraged that this grassroots organization is bold and open minded enough to extend an olive branch in such a blue stronghold."

Nothing like a bunch of "open minded" book banners. She's trying to get over on her readers like a nine year old would try to explain how a pack of firecrackers went off in the living room. I read the comments. She succeeds. I bet that, in her brain full of wormholes, open minded extends to those who actually burn books, too. Give it time. Within a few weeks, she'll be writing about exactly that- open minded book burners. She also claims to not understand why people refer to her open minded book banners as extremists. Oddly, Ms. Murakhver even claims to be both a "New York Liberal" (her words, best words) and a friend of Moms For Hitler co-founder Tiffany Justice (apparently, that's her real name) and has "yet to find an instance of divisive rhetoric or hate speech" from the group, as if banning books is not a divisive thing at all! We're talkin' real genius here!

Murakhver goes on to say that groups associated with Moms for "Liberty" such as the seriously far right and downright subversive Heritage Foundation aren't what they really are on the political spectrum. Yeah, nothing to see here, right! This from someone who, as I said, claims to be a "New York Liberal," no less. A "New York Liberal" who also states that she was very against schools closing in March 2020 as the COVID pandemic took hold and personally resents being labeled as "not believing in science." She also extolled the virtues of her fave group of besties being against teachers unions. By the end of her screed, I was half expecting her to launch into attacks on "critical race theory," vaccines, Disney's Board of Directors being "groomers" and, of course, Jack Smith or anyone who wasn't planning on voting for Traitor Don or any stand-in like DeSantis or Nikki 3-Ks the GOP might put forward. She's already drunk the Kool-Aid. She needs to wash it down with a gallon of bleach.

Anyway, Friday evening came and, despite the 25 degree temperature, there may have actually been more protesters of the MFL's nazi confab outside the Bohemian Hall than Moms supporters inside. The Moms claimed their event was sold out but there were plenty of seats to be had. Among the attendees were Rudy Giuliani's crackpot son Andrew and the recently booted from the House "George Santos" who came as George Santos. When those two are your A-Listers, you may have a problem. George got a hearty round of boos as he left his car and Andrew received a fusillade of FUs after yelling out "God bless Moms For Liberty!" Others among the attendees expressed their paranoia, insecurity, and hate by accusing the protesters of being "Groomers" and demons.

The protesters included Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, State Senator Liz Krueger, several City Council members, librarians, teachers, relatives of holocaust survivors, Rabbi Abby Stein, and People For The American Way's National Director Alana Byrd. Byrd had this to say:

"I'm the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors and I had to hear for years how this shit starts and this is how it starts. First they ban the books. Then they say we're poisoning their blood. I will be fucked if I have to co-parent with these assholes."

Rabbi Stein, also a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, added:

"I'm terrified because as we heard earlier, I know where you are going with it. When you ban books, when you burn books, you are gonna burn people next."

State Senator Krueger added:

"I'm not interested in anybody who's saying we're going to challenge your right to read what you want, what you believe in, and to learn what you need to learn,  These people have no business in our community."
