Or maybe Mike Johnson actually is the best Louisiana has and maybe we should build a wall. Or, more insane asylums. We never did replace the ones Republican Saint Ronnie Raygun emptied out into the streets, so... Well, Mike Johnson is what we get and we are truly a nation of fools and idiots if we tolerate it.
Think about it. The Nazi Party thought Louisiana's Steve Scalise, the man who still proudly bills himself as KKK Grand Wizard David Duke (another Louisianan) without "the baggage" wasn't crazy enough for the job so they dredged up an even bigger Louisiana lunatic named Mike Johnson. The last man from Louisiana Republicans chose for Speaker, Bob Livingston, was to succeed an absolute goon from Georgia named Newt but ol' Bob lasted less than 24 hours and failed to get the gavel when he was forced to go away amid whispers about extra-marital affairs that involved teens and whips and chains. Louisi-phucking-anna! We don't know much about Mike Johnson's wife, yet, but she does run some sort of fake Christonut therapy organization that likens being gay to bestiality and incest, so, there's that. Stay tuned for more!!!!!! And you thought Mike Pence's "Gay Conversion Electro-Therapy" was whack! Are there any sane Republicans anywhere? The evidence sez NO, tens of millions of times NO.
So, the countdown has begun. What will it be with Mike Johnson? Does he like to watch wrestling coaches have sex with students in the showers? Will we one day know him as Mikey Meth Monster? Does he go to plays with Lauren Boebert? What have we learned about Mike Johnson over the last week:
He referred to abortion as a “holocaust” and "linked the judicial philosophy that legalized the right to an abortion to Hitler."
He played a central role in efforts to help Trump overturn the will of the voters leading up to the January 6th insurrection.
He claimed same-sex marriage would lead to people marrying their pets.
He co-sponsored a nationwide abortion ban, and worked at the right-wing organization now leading the charge to ban Mifepristone.
He wanted to sentence abortion providers to “hard labor” after Roe v. Wade was overturned.
He’s blamed school shootings on abortion.
He’s also blamed school shootings on the teaching of evolution.
He’s repeatedly given voice to far-right conspiracy theories like the “great replacement” theory.
He’s championed “don’t say gay” bills.
He’s called LGBTQ+ people “sinful” and “destructive.”
And just last week he responded to the latest mass shooting in Maine by saying the problem isn’t guns, it’s “the human heart.”
Obviously, the Nazis in the House love Mike Johnson and feel he is a very able representative of the sort of lunacy they stand for. He is them and they are him. This is just the beginning of what we are learning about someone who has been called “the least vetted Speaker in modern history.” Imagine what we will hear about this lunatic in the coming months. Strap in! A white supremacist, election denying, anti-abortion misogynistic, gun nut bible-thumping homophobe who shrugs at mass shootings and that's just the start. How long will he last? Maybe when Johnson blows up, the Republicans will call former Speaker Dennnis Hastert, a convicted felon and sex offender and talk him out of retirement. One thing's for sure. These Nazis who walk among us are completely capable of doing that, at the least!
