You may ask yourself, how did I get here. You may ask yourself, how did my country get to the point where an absolute terrorist-rapist-traitor gets to be the leader of one of its two major political parties and threatens to bring the whole damn very idea of this country to a screaming halt. You may ask yourself what's the way out of this insanity loop we're in? You may even ask yourself if the only way to fix this might be to unplug the whole country and plug it in again. The whole wide world, too! Certainly that works with my computer, my phone, my printer (only sometimes), and my TV. So yeah, how 'bout we chose this coming Monday, April 1st at noon Eastern, to shut all power of all kinds down for a half hour. Let's just all sit in the dark with no devices, no cars, no trucks, no planes in the air, ships just anchored at sea, no radios, no nothin' and see what happens when the power comes back on. Surely no Republican would object to hospitals losing power for a bit. After all, what republican isn't for bold, innovative ways to kill people or at least spread a whole lotta human misery? That's their life's blood!
But, I suppose we could all use the half hour to contemplate our individual roles in creating, enabling, or tolerating the fiasco that is the human condition in the A.D. 21st century but there's no escaping that our species has been screwing up for 300,000 years like we were born to do so. Still, did it all have to lead to Moscow Mitch following Master Vlad's orders and making extra sure that his chosen one, the crackpot depicted in the above cartoon, was still around to run the Republican Party? McConnell could have ended it with a conviction in the $enate after the first impeachment but he didn't. The fact that he also chose not to do the right thing even when given a second chance at conviction, removal and political obliteration proves what his intent was from the beginning.
So, cut the power? Yeah, but I know, some moron somewhere will forget or refuse to participate and pooch the whole idea. Ergo, we are doomed to continue living in this twilight zone until the end. And we don't even get a visit from Klaatu-
