I have a confession! I saw Some Like It Hot as a young, supposedly impressionable youngster, and I was not groomed! And, unlike J. Edgar Hoover, I've never put on a dress!!! Not once! Not in my whole life!
Let me be even more subversive, at least in the framework of Republicanism. Take a deep breath now! Here it is: I know tons of guys who have seen this Hollywood classic several times in their lives and they "didn't turn gay," get into drag, or anything like that. Of course, some of them were already gay, but maybe that was due to watching John Wayne movies. Hmmm, coulda been that Davy Crockett buckskin and fur hat thing. That's kinda Village People-ish. Maybe Republicans oughta look into that. I don't know, and, guess what, I don't care, not one bit.
Seriously though-- Think of all of the protests if Some Like It Hot or, for that matter, Mrs. Doubtfire, or Tootsie or any of a number of movies, even from recent years, came out now in 2023. Hell, Tony and Jack would be arrested in an insane asylum state like Tennessee where drag is literally against the law now, and in hellholes like Florida, Arkansas, or Texas, the theaters would be burned to the ground and if the actors showed up, they would likely be beaten to death with hammers and tiki torches. Hey, but don't worry, marching around in nazi uniforms will make you a Republican hero and role model, and of course, wearing a Camp Auschwitz sweatshirt to an attempted coup will just mean you're a tourist. Damn, how many impressionable minds is that sicko Tucker Carlson grooming every night?
