Observe the contrast in the two photos used for tonight's meme. One shows the determination of an American hero, Officer Eugene Goodman. The other shows the evil grin of scheming $enate Minority Leader Moscow Mitch McQonnell.
We have to get it through our thick heads that this is not simply a polarized country, it is a country at war with a domestic enemy. 'Polarized' treads way too lightly. The use of the word 'polarized' is a camouflage ingredient that is being used to cover the much more brutal truth.
If not for people like Officer Goodman and his fellow patriot officers, including the 140 officers who suffered physical injuries on 1/6 that were enough to cause multiple finger loss, eye loss, broken bones, concussions, and, mental injuries that were enough to drive some officers to suicide, people with names like Pence, Pelosi, AOC, Ilhan Omar, and others would have been swinging in the breeze from Trump's Maga Gallows and we would be living under a full-blown Trump dictatorship right now, today.
If not for people like Officer Goodman, enemy agents such as Josh Hawley, "Ted" Qruz, Marjorie Traitor-Greene, Kevin McQarthy, Ron Johnson, John Thune, Louie Gohmert, Lindsey Graham, Moscow Mitch, One Amerika Network, Breitbart, Newsmax, FOX "News" and all the rest of their kind would be rejoicing and circling your block in Trump truck parades all night like their ISIS brethren in the Middle East. As it is, they all see their defeat on 1/6 as just a temporary set back while they regroup by ramming new vote regulations through individual state legislatures that are designed to enable a more intricate, more subtle takeover in 2022 and 2024. They want us to go back to sleep while they continue to construct a 4th Reich state legislature by state legislature and court by court. The party that claims to hate regulations is implementing more and more regulations as they plan for their Pearl Harbor of the ballot box.
In the meantime, Moscow Mitch and Donald Trump and the rest of the Domestic Terror Party want to make sure that nothing more is uncovered about their attempt to end democracy once and for all on 1/6. They want no 1/6 Commission. That would reveal too much or what they've done and what they are about. It's all "Nothing to see here." Well, if that was really the case, they'd be happy to have a no holds barred investigation of what happened on 1/6, who helped it along, and how. Not investigating such things will buy them time while they also do their endless circus recounts that are designed to discourage faith in the whole voting system and democracy itself. Whatever time we give them will help them make more thorough plans for their inevitable next attempt. President Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and anyone else who thinks you can talk to these people is just playing into their hands.
Again, it's time for our wimpy Democrats to stop negotiating with terrorists or one day that Republican gallows will be full. All the warnings are there, as are all the dark lessons of history.
