Allow me to translate what the $enator from West Virginia actually means: Since a huge majority of West Virginians favor the proposed $3.5 Trillion infrastructure bill, why don't we cast a wider net and just substitute the word constituents for the word party in the above cartoon. The subtle change in meaning cuts to the core with a wider truth.
Of course, a mega whore like Manchin doesn't consider the people of West Virginia his real constituency. He's made it abundantly clear that he's not really interested in supporting anything that would help make their lives better unless there is a direct benefit to him and his family whether that means he gets to stay in office and keep all the perks that we pay for with our tax dollars, or just that his bank accounts continue to grow while we continue to suffer. No, in Joe Manchin's sick mind, his real constituency is a group of West Virginia coal mine owners and others who paid for his yacht that he parades up and down the Potomac, his houses, and who knows what else. The fact that Manchin is owned and operated by the billionaire pigs who stuff his pockets doesn't make him stand out all that much in Washington but, perhaps, the fact that he goes so far out of his way to glory in it and rub it in the faces of "ordinary Americans" does. This man is not a good human.
Same for you, Kyrsten Sinema. If anything good can be really said of the selfishness of people like you and your buddy Joe Manchin, it's that you have thrown a little bit more than the usual sized spotlight on the horrible character of most of those in your position. We've always known what most of you people are like at heart but some of us forget or it recedes to the background from time to time. Thank you for reminding us and making it so clear.
