Well, wasn't this whole debt ceiling insanity special? Special as in a perfect illustration of the fact that humankind isn't up to the prerequisites of managing a functional civilization. If it was, we would never have to see our so-called leaders, the alleged suit-wearing "best & brightest," the "chosen ones," manufacture bullcrap crisis after bullcrap crisis out of the nothingness of their so-called brains. Probably just so they can put on a skit about how valuable they supposedly are to us, right? They've even already scheduled the next one! Fantastic!!!! See you in two years, if we make it that long.

Sorry folks, it's obvious that our species has reached the limits of its potential. Forget the lunacy of even the concept of the "debt crisis," we have vending machines that dispense cancer, we can't use the internet responsibly, and we have to have flashing signs that tell us to drive slower in an ice storm. We simply lack the maturity and the smarts. We have, in fact, been backsliding for decades. Hell, we even manufacture our own plagues now. "Hey, ma! What's for dinner?" "OK, kids! How about some nice Chinese Rabid Bat Stew!!!"

Not to worry, though, the solution is already in hand. It's called AI. We created it ostensibly to do our thinking and solve our problems for us because we are too effing lazy to try to use more than 10% (3% for most people) of our brains. No worries, when AI sees how pathetic and useless we are, it will come up with the ultimate solution, a very real final solution. Give the dinosaurs some credit. They didn't create the asteroid that killed them off. That was just a very unlucky day, a very unlucky day indeed. They lasted tens and tens of millions of years. Us?
