by Noah The photo for tonight's meme was taken in Indianapolis at last weekend's annual NRA-GOP Joint Celebration Of Death. The child in the picture was aiming the gun at a Reuters reporter. Nice, eh? Train 'em to see journalists as enemies while they're young and highly impressionable. Got it. OK. According to the NRA website, the gun was "deactivated" which I take to mean that it had no firing pin but I don't know that for sure. Alec Baldwin was recently handling what he thought was a harmless gun and somebody died. So there's that. However, the point is that what the kid did was a spontaneous gesture and no doubt the result of bad parenting. Hell, the event was full of kids, many as young as six. Which one will now go home with mommy and daddy and point their recent now fully activated purchase at a family member? Which one will take it to the playground?
