Your Cartoon Special Of The Day! Republican Dream = American Nightmare!

-by Noah

Since the days of Barry Goldwater and The John Birch Society, America has been careening towards the Republican desire of a Nazi future. Nixon made a lot of headway in that effort when he brought the Dixiecrat racists and anti-Semites into the party cesspool with his "Southern Strategy" in 1968. One of his aides, Roger Ailes even had plans for what became FOX "News" or what he called GOP-TV. However, the dream was slowed when Nixon was forced to resign. Ironically, one of the people who convinced him to resign was Barry Goldwater himself. In retrospect, he probably saw that as a "Live to fight another day" action. In the end, a fellow traveler named Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon and Democrats and whatever few decent republicans there might have been at that time grew more and more complacent as the country developed the false comfort of a "Nothing to see here attitude" which begat an "It can't happen here" blindness. Even the likes of Reagan, 2 Bushes, and Cheney didn't snap our sleeping country out of it so the republican dream has only grown and grown.

So many words are being written about the dire American future that the Republican Party has been striving for, so I will just stop here for today. The perfect storm of an absolute madman Nazi arrived in the man-thing that Republicans now worship golden statues of. The Republican Party is a messianic cult. Out of all the tens of millions of Republicans in the country, less than a literal handful will speak against their Nazi messiah. The others do not speak up, not out of fear but because of belief. Meanwhile, millions of passive fools and idiots, ostensibly on our side, continue to naively wait for them to do the right thing. If that was ever going to happen, it would have already occurred, long ago.
