Today hundreds of cities and towns-- around 400 of them-- saw March for Our Lives demonstrations against DC's refusal to protect America from the gun violence pandemic. While the Senate wastes time on near meaningless weak tea discussions, hoping that the clamor will die down, the House passed a series of 7 more meaningful bills that Republican senators like Ted Cruz (TX), Ron Johnson (WI), Rand Paul (KY), Mike Lee (UT) and Marco Rubio (FL) have pledged to use the filibuster to kill just as dead as the people they and their NRA allies were responsible for killing in mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde this month. Only 5 Republicans joined the House Democrats voting for the Protecting Our Kids Act package (all 7 bills)-- Adam Kinzinger (IL), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA), Anthony Gonzalez (OH), Chris Jacobs (NY) and Fred Upton (MI)-- while 2 Blue Dogs voted against the whole package, Kurt Schrader (OR) and Jared Golden (ME). Two other conservative Democrats-- Ron Kind (New Dem-WI) and Mr. NRA, Henry Cuellar (Blue Dog-TX)-- voted against various parts of the bill as each came to the floor separately.
