Wow! Steve Bannon Hates Christianity! Who Knew? And America... But We All Knew That Already

He Also Hates MAGA Mike

Anti-Jesus GOP psychopath Steve Bannon went after MAGA Mike (and Christianity) yesterday, slamming the Speaker on his podcast for bringing the Pentagon budget to the House floor for a vote, even though all the crazy MAGA amendments had been stripped out of it. “The NDAA just passed, it just passed. This is Mike Johnson, and don’t tell me you’re a Christian. I don’t want to hear you’re a Christian, don’t wear your faith, don’t give me the Bible, I don’t hear more Bible verse. When you’ve allowed the transgender, you’ve allowed all that garbage, all that demonic trash throughout the defense budget… You’re just as bad as the bad guys because you should know better. So I don’t need to hear any more biblical view, okay?”

Can you imagine if a Democrat were to make such an anti-religion, anti-Christian statement on a broadcast!

The NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) passed 310-118 with 47 Republicans (mostly extreme right-wingers) and 45 Democrats (mostly progressives) voting against it. No votes from the Republicans included most of the members of the Freedom Caucus, led by the current chair Bob Good (R-VA) and the former chairs Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Gym Jordan (OH) and Scott Perry (R-PA). The other Freedom Caucus members who voted against it:

  • Barry Moore (R-AL)

  • Eli Crane (R-AZ)

  • Debbie Lesko (R-AZ)

  • Paul Gosar (R-AZ)

  • Ken Buck (R-CO)

  • Bill Posey (R-FL)

  • Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL)

  • Greg Steube (R-FL)

  • Byron Donalds (R-FL)

  • Andrew Clyde (R-GA)

  • Mike Collins (R-GA)

  • Russ Fulcher (R-ID)

  • Mary Miller (R-IL)

  • Clay Higgins (R-LA)

  • Andy Harris (R-MD)

  • Eric Burlison (R-MO)

  • Matt Rosendale (R-MT)

  • Dan Bishop (R-NC)

  • Warren Davidson (R-OH)

  • Josh Brecheen (R-OK)

  • Jeff Duncan (R-SC)

  • Ralph Norman (R-SC)

  • Diana Harshbarger (R-TN)

  • Andy Ogles (R-TN)

  • Mark Green (R-TN)

  • Randy Weber (R-TX)

  • Chip Roy (R-TX)

  • Troy Nehls (R-TX)

  • Michael Cloud (R-TX)

  • Ben Cline (R-VA)

  • Morgan Griffith (R-VA)

  • Tom Tiffany (R-WI)

  • Harriet Hageman (R-WY)

Marjorie Traitor Greene was kicked out of the Freedom Caucus for threatening to shoot another member but she voted with them as well, as did Freedom Caucus-adjacent MAGAts Matt Gaetz (R-FL) ,Cory Mills (R-FL) Tim Burchett (R-TN), Kat Cammack (R-FL), Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Kevin Hern (R-OK). Boebert is too scared to further piss off swing voters in her district, so she voted against it. One of the crazy MAGAts opposed to the bill, Texas cry-baby Chip Roy was whining that “There is no justification for supporting a bill that does not materially change the direction of our military away from social engineering.” Gaetz was angry about the final bill as well, too woke for him: “With this NDAA conference report, you almost feel like a parent who’s sent their child off to summer camp and they come back like a monster.” Anyway, MAGA Mike’s honeymoon period with the fascist fringe is over. Next comes the divorce; then the vacate.

Aside from freaking out over all the anti-woke nonsense that was removed that MAGAts were demanding, maybe Bannon was so upset because one provision of the bill— written by Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) and clearly aimed at Señor Trumpanzee— would prevent any president from withdrawing from NATO without the approval of the Senate. Bannon, a Putin-puppet, wants Trump to ditch NATO if he gets back to the White House. Now he can't... unless the GOP takes back the Senate and the MAGAts gain the upper hand. No one could be angrier over all this than Putin.

Most of Congress’ most progressive members also voted no, including AOC, Jamaal Bowman, Ro Khanna, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Summer Lee, Cori Bush, Mark Takano, Barbara Lee, Mark Pocan, Becca Balint, Jamie Raskin, Ayanna Presley, Greg Casar, Jim McGovern, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Delia Ramirez and Jan Schakowsky. And, of course, Progressive Caucus chair Pramila Jayapal, who explained to Seattle voters that “Every year, Republicans tell us that we have no money for Medicare for All, College for All, childcare, or expanded Social Security that would benefit millions of working families across the country. And yet we still pump far too much money each year— even more than the Secretary of Defense himself asked for—into an already bloated Pentagon budget. The Pentagon has never successfully passed an audit, yet this year we are raising its budget to $886 billion with no increased accountability or transparency. It’s a shameful waste of taxpayer money and I cannot support it. I am also very concerned that this year’s NDAA package included a clean reauthorization of FISA, even as the House Judiciary Committee passed a bipartisan reform bill by a margin of 35-2 to overhaul this program that violates Americans’ fourth amendment right to privacy. There was a real solution on the table to stop warrantless spying by government agencies and it should’ve been passed— not a clean extension that does nothing to protect people.”
