Where’s The Beef— Aside Sitting In For Marjorie Traitor Greene’s “Brain?”

Trump’s Demand That Biden Be Impeached Could Cost Republicans These 30 Seats

No one has ever accused former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, a far right Christian nationalist, of being a RINO, but his advice to the House Republicans is clashing with Trump’s demands. Señor Trumpanzee insists that the House impeach Biden so that he can point to it on the campaign trail and his House puppets are all on board, despite the lack any credible evidence. (NOTE: Marjorie Traitor Greene’s hysterical tweets don’t count as evidence of anything outside of backward northwest Georgia KKK hellholes like Murray, Gordon, Dade, Polk and Chatooga counties.)

Earlier in the week, Huckabee was on one of the neo-fascist mini-networks being interviewed on Just the News No Noise when he noted that impeaching Biden would be a “huge mistake,” a “political disaster” for Republicans and a pointless waste of time.

That’s not stopping MAGA Mike or any House Republicans who want to stay on Trump’s— and his fans’— good side. It doesn’t matter in the deeper districts where swing voters have no impact on electoral outcomes, but in swing districts… it could kill incumbents' chances for reelection. The House GOP Leaders know they’re making a big mistake but they’ve rounded up virtually all the members from swing districts and persuaded them to vote for a resolution to turn the probe into an official impeachment investigation, telling some of them that this is just to pacify Trump and that there won’t actually be an impeachment vote— although that sounds like someone was sold a bill of goods.

Yesterday Max Cohen, Mica Soellner and Jake Sherman reported that :swing-district Republicans look ready to green-light” it.

  • Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ): “I definately would want to make sure that Biden gets held accountable to the fullest extent.”

  • Don Bacon (R-NE): “I was reluctant to support it in the past, but what I heard this weekend is we’re just not getting the documents.”

  • John Duarte (R-CA) said he’s “seen enough evidence” to open an inquiry

  • Marc Molinaro (R-NY): on board

  • Nick LaLota (R-NY): on board

  • Brandon Williams (R-NY): on board

Mike Garcia (R-CA): “Is it Warranted? Probably. Is it politically smart? I don’t know. I don’t think so. I want President Biden to be on the ticket.” It’s worth noting that Biden beat Trump in Garcia’s district in 2020 by 12.4 points and is likely to beat Trump again by an even greater margin next year. The only Republicans who seem to be still against this nonsense are Ken Buck (R-CO) and Tom McClintock (R-CA), although Mike Lawler, usually the first Republican to rush to a mic has been relatively quiet on this one. (It was revealed yesterday that he’s a secret Nikki Haley supporter, although I don’t know what it means to be a secret supporter of someone.)

The 30 Republican members whose reelection prospects are likely to be most hurt by an impeachment circus:
