Virginia Foxx Helps Cover Up The Trump-Epstein Pedophilia Rampage

Yesterday, craven Trump lackey MAGA Mike Johnson, the most laughable excuse for a Speaker since Denny Hastert or even Howell Cobb (1849-’51), sent Congress home rather than allow his members to vote of releasing the Epstein documents Trump is keeping from the public. An undeserved early summer break!
Minutes after Johnson made his announcement, Ted Lieu (D-CA), told us that “House Republicans are facilitating the coverup of the Epstein files by shutting down Congress early!”
With Congress out of town, it may be even easier for Trump and cronies like Todd Blanche to use Ghislaine Maxwell to try rewriting history to remove Trump from his central role in the scandal. After all, she knows exactly what happens to imprisoned participants if they don’t cooperate with Señor TACO… especially with the House Oversight and Government Reform government operations subcommittee voting— by voice vote (so no record of who voted which way)— to subpoena Maxwell. The motion to subpoena Maxwell was introduced by Tim Burchett (R-TN), a QAnon-MAGA loon who is obsessed with the case. With both Republicans and Democrats on the committee aligning on the issue, Trump will grow even more deranged and desperate.

The Washington Post reported that “The House has largely come to a halt as Republican leaders struggle to assuage an irate group of lawmakers who are demanding that the Justice Department release files related to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Republicans on the House Rules Committee continue to oppose allowing any legislation to reach the House floor for a vote this week. That’s because they fear Democrats will introduce amendments related to Epstein. Democrats on the panel did so twice last week, and Republicans faced blowback from constituents and the MAGA base for voting against releasing the files. Rules Committee Chair Virginia Foxx (R-NC) told reporters Tuesday morning [before MAGA Mike decided to shut the whole House down] that the panel may not meet again until ‘possibly’ September, meaning the House will not vote on any legislation this week that isn’t overwhelmingly bipartisan.”
Lawmakers across the ideological spectrum, including the conservative House Freedom Caucus, have since protested a decision by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) not to vote on a nonbinding resolution expressing their concerns over the Epstein matter before they head home to their districts. Johnson said during a news conference Tuesday that he continues to be for “maximum transparency,” but he clearly expressed frustration with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who continues to press for a vote on releasing the files.
“Let me just say about Thomas Massie, could you just accept my Southern, ‘bless his heart.’ I don’t know what else to say about it,” Johnson said.

As country lawyer MAGA Mike well understands, this isn’t just about Epstein or some long-dead predator’s black book. It’s about power protecting itself. It’s about the grotesque willingness of Republican “leadership” to shield a man credibly accused of being at the center of an international sex-trafficking operation— because exposing the truth might damage their cult leader. MAGA Mike may try hiding behind syrupy Southern euphemisms, but what he’s really saying is: We will not hold Trump accountable, no matter what. The grotesque irony is that even the QAnon true believers like Burchett are now stumbling into partial truths while Johnson scrambles to bury them again.
The House has become a stage for bad actors playing out a dark farce. They claim to want transparency, but run for the exits the moment the truth gets close to home. Congress didn’t just recess early— it fled the scene of a dark political crime scene. And as Trump’s lawyers angle to launder Ghislaine Maxwell’s narrative, America’s so-called representatives are out on vacation, leaving the cover-up to metastasize in peace.
So now the House of Representatives— America’s most dysfunctional open-air asylum— has fled Washington for an early vacation to avoid voting on whether or not the public deserves to know who Jeffrey Epstein trafficked children to. That’s where we are now. The “People’s House” won’t even pretend to legislate if it might inconvenience their cult leader or offend the fragile sensibilities of MAGA donors with suspicious flight logs. No one is surprised that MAGA Mike is once again showing himself to be nothing more than a man with all the spine of a boiled shrimp and the moral clarity of a fog machine. My favorite line was his claim that he supports “maximum transparency” while we’re treated to his smirking “bless his heart” dismissal of Thomas Massie, who is actually pressing for something grounded in reality. When Thomas Massie becomes your truth-teller, the clown show has entered its nihilist phase.
