We don't know exactly how the naming of a new speaker will run its course. Just as I sat down to write this, the plan to have North Carolina's Rep. McHenry get enough powers to enable a few things that the House is supposed to be doing blew itself to smithereens. Perhaps it was decided that McHenry's highly suspect past would never withstand the increased scrutiny that his promotion would attract. I have to think that even Republicans don't want to see yet another of their members being exposed. Of course, I say that facetiously since they seem to love revealing themselves. After all, criminality is a plus in Washington. That may be bi-partisan but Republicans always seem to provide an extra flair with theirs.
So anyway, how long before House Republicans go with the QAnon Shaman, Rudy's personal friend and a man who's already spent some time in the Capitol Building, most notably on January 6. 2021, a day that all Republicans everywhere revere. In the Nazi world that Republicans wish for all of us, the horned Chewbacca dude is a stone hero, statue worthy and all that.
