by Noah Sunday Thoughts: Religion a tool of oppression and hate? Bibles as a physical weapon? Nah! No way! Say it ain't so! Actually, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't so. History is full of examples. Hmmm, maybe if there was a movement to teach an accurate history of religion and its role in our societies... Yeah! Sit back and watch the Republicans move to ban even the mere mention of religion in schools like everything else! "Truth? We don't need no stinkin' truth! Try that in a small town!" Then the related book bans! Well, maybe yes. Maybe no. But watching all the confliction, confusion, and consternation might be fun. So how long before churches start to hold WWF style Sunday Morning Beatdowns right in their churches? The way things have been going, I can see them dragging in minorities of every sort and raising money by having their parishioners pay for the privilege of stepping into the ring to beat up an "Unapproved Person." It's coming and it will be here way before Christ the Son of Gawd dares to return. After all, you know what they'd do to a subversive like him 2000 years ago! Think they won't do it again? Sunday Morning Beatdown, for sure! Or, of course, maybe a special pre-weekend program, no?
