Sunday Thoughts

That headline is true, you know. Don't believe it? Just ask yourself which of the two lunatics is the bigger mass murderer. Sure, a lot of politicians kill a lot of people. The difference is often that sometimes it's due to "damned if you do, damned if you don't" reluctant decisions involving war, politics, and ruthlessness. Weakness is sadly often a factor, too. Sometimes, as in the cases of greedy sociopathic corporate CEO types and mob figures, it's solely for cash on the barrelhead. Avoidable's got nothin' to do with it. But with total psychopaths like Speaker of the House Mike Johnson... Well, let's just say they obviously wake up in the morning and throw their whole being into looking for ways to legislate death, death by the thousands if not millions, even of their own fellow citizens. How else do you really arrive at legislating death through the removal of Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, Meals On Wheels, etc. etc. etc. Granted Manson wanted to create a race war and what he and his squad of lunatics did was way beyond horrific, but Mike Johnson, who would no doubt also enjoy a race war, looks at stuff like what Charles Manson did and says, "Hold my beer!"

And both men justified their actions by saying they spoke to God first. I've always said that the only cosmic god I see appears to be some sort of "Oh Great Galactic Emperor of Sick Practical Jokes." Obviously the one Manson believed in and the one whose alter Johnson worships at is the more famous homicidal maniac one. Manson had a small family. Johnson has a much, much bigger one.

Addendum: Just in case you missed the news, and just in case you might think I'm exaggerating about the evil of Mike Johnson, in a call for vigilante justice the Speaker has now brazenly called for violence against California's Governor Gavin Newsom. It's one thing for Traitor Don to call Newsom "Newscum" and it's bad enough for Trump to call for Newsom's arrest and "border czar" Tom Holman to openly discuss the idea of Newsom's and LA Mayor Karen Bass's arrest but Speaker Johnson is going further and calling for California's Governor to be stripped naked, covered with boiling tar and then feathers. That's right tarred and feathered, a punishment from a time that just about every Republican I know of would like to return to. To date, not one Republican with any sort of public profile has condemned Johnson. His description of what kind punishment he would like to see visited upon Governor Newsom is telling. It's only a matter of time before we hear about what the Speaker's into after hours.

Speaker Johnson is second in line in the presidential succession, right behind another real anti-immigrant winner, JD Vance. These are apparently the GOP's "Best People." Even worse ones are just waiting for their chance.
