Midnight Meme Of The Day! A Politician Who Practices The Religion He Preaches In Texas?

Sunday Thoughts

First a few words about the man behind the quote in today's meme. Before I decided to post the meme, I wanted to know who the man behind the words might be and it turns out that James Talarico is Representative James Talarico, a Democrat and a former public school teacher, who serves Texas District 52 in the Texas House of Representatives. The district he represents encompasses a large part of suburban Austin, especially Round Rock. He's 36 years old and went to college at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, University of Texas in Austin and the GOP-hated Harvard University. His political interests and expertise seem to be in the medical areas and in the juvenile justice system. Other than that and the quote, I don't know anything about him and how progressive he may or may not be but the fact that such a person who says and more importantly does the things he does puts a little bit of light in my day. He's from Texas and got elected there! More than once! Wonders never cease. They're just few and far between.

So anyway, Rep. Talarico, thanks for what you said there in tonight's meme. Decent Americans have had more than enough of the two slugs shown above. How sad it is that saying what you said out loud makes you stand out from your surroundings in our biggest nutstate. It also speaks well about your constituents, some of whom are members of my family. You are not Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton, John Cornyn, or "Ted" Cruz. and, hey, I might as well add Jerry Jones, that nutjob that owns the Dallas Cowboys. Texas needs more, tens of thousands more, like you, and so does your religion.

Addendum 1: Elon "Mr. Apartheid" Musk is calling for Traitor Don's impeachment while Republicans are calling for Elon's deportation. What's wrong with doing both? C'mon America, prove we can walk and chew gum at the same time!

Addendum 2: Seeing that heinous excuse for a man, Speaker Johnson, reminds me of the following news item from his home state of Louisiana. I'd say you have to wonder how psycho the people of Louisiana are to both allow this and elect a cruelty maven like Johnson plus those two worm-brained $enators of theirs, but no wonder need be involved. Louisianans consider them the their "best people," the best they have to offer:
