Miss Thing: “If A Politician’s Mouth Is Moving On Capitol Hill, They’re Lying To You”
The other day we mentioned that comedian Ziwe Fumudoh would be interviewing George Santos. She did and it popped up on YouTube yesterday morning. It’s hilarious and starts with a disclaimer that Santos asked to be paid (3 times) and that she didn’t pay him. He also asked her— imagining he wasn’t being taped— to be “mindful” of “the DOJ stuff.” He’s not sure what to name his book because “We’re doing a market study on it.” He didn’t say if he has found someone to write it for him or not. Maybe that’s part of the market study. He says he wears far more makeup today than he did when he was notorious drag queen Kitara Ravache in Brazil and that he’s been using Botox and fillers “since I’m 25.” He also confided that he lost hundred pounds post-drag queen days. And… “I love drag queens; let’s set the record straight. I don’t like drag queens for kids.”
Almost immediately Ziiwe ambushed and made an idiot out of him by discussing civil rights figures. When asked, he pretended to know who iconic drag queen Marsha P. Johnson was and praised her, aware he was already looking like a liar. He then admitted be had never heard of James Baldwin (Who the hell is James Baldwin”) or Harvey Milk (“I have no clue who that is”)! He did know who Nicki Minaj is though.
When she asked about his troubles in Congress— the ones that got him kicked out— he puffed himself up and said “I wasn’t there to play nice. I was there to expose the rot and corruption, and I did. And I’m going to continue to do it. Republicans and Democrats alike. Swampy, slimy people selling this country down a river… You can call me a messy bitch (she just had); I’ve been called worse but I’ll take it…They’re all frauds. If you were to put them all under the same scrutiny I was put under, you’d fucking vacate the whole goddamn building.” She then ran through a bunch of Congress members and asked he to say if they are corrupt or not.

Dan Goldman- “he doesn’t pay his rent! Dan sowing $180,000 worth of rent right now on his $45,000 monthly rent which is what most make a year; you let that fucking sink in!”
He says he’s all for peace, but only after wiping out our enemies, obviously unaware that every warmonger in history said exactly that. He also said he doesn’t understand the word “empathy.” He refused to say if he would like to be wearing orange when he’s in prison.
Grace Ashford reviewed the performance for the NY Times, noting that “despite her efforts to pin him down on his use of campaign funds, purported race-blindness and the seeming inconsistency between his embrace of drag culture and support for far-right anti-drag mandates, the interview broke no news. [Sometimes you just have to read between the lines to catch the news.] Indeed, it only further showcased the transformation of Santos, who is facing 23 felony counts, from a scowling and disgraced figure hounded by reporters into a kind of showman, eager to turn that disgrace into a kind of low-level celebrity.”
