George Santos: “I Am The Most Conservative New Yorker In The Entire Delegation..."

Another Lie: Claudia Tenney Is Far To His Right

During an interview with Manu Raju for CNN Sunday, George Santos lied again. He said he isn’t negotiating with the Department of Justice for a plea deal. But he is. He was told not to talk about it… so he claimed there are no negotiations going on. There are and they’re stuck on, among other things, the term in prison he’s going to get and who will own the income derived from the book and movie rights based on his life story. There are no “Son of Sam” federal statutes but the last I heard is that Santos has given up trying to get any English rights and is trying to get the rights for Brazilian Portuguese (not even actual Portuguese!).

He also said that when it came to running for office AOC was his inspiration and that he feels disconnected from the Republican Party but insisted he still plans to run for reelection (another bold-faced lie). He has to say he’s running in order to keep raising, which he can then use for defense costs. And… has claims he’s been consulting with a genealogist for ten months to prove he’s descended from Ukrainian Jews (rather than Jew-ish) but can’t get the paperwork to prove it because of the war.

Santos sent a poorly written letter if thanks to the members of Congress who voted to not expel him Jamie Raskin corrected some of his misspellings and added that he appreciates the note “and only wish someone had proofread it first. Meantime, you should apologize to the people of New York for all of your lies and deceit. I know you must have thought you could get away with it all in the party of Trump, but the truth is resilient. P.S.: It’s not shameful to resign.”

Santos is facing 23 federal charges— 10 from a superseding indictment last week. His trial is scheduled for September 2024, just before the 2024 elections. The House Ethics Committee is also investigating him on charges of financial improprieties, sexual misconduct (there are tapes of him trying to pressure a job applicant into having sex with him and of grabbing the guy’s dick), unemployment insurance fraud and conflict of interest.

Last Thursday, Sam Bankman Fried was found guilty on all charges— after lying on the stand over and over and using the phrase “don’t recall” 140 times during his testimony— and faces a maximum of 110 years in prison. He will also have another trial— the political one— about campaign finance violations and bribery. He will be under pressure to admit what he got from various politicians who he gave large sums if money to. New Jersey Blue Dog Josh Gottheimer, a member of the notorious and completely corrupt Blockchain 8, has already been served with a subpoena as part of this case— and cancelled his plans to run for the Senate. He is scheduled you be sentenced in late March, 2024.
