Next We Hear From Pence He'll Be Testifying Against Trump
Just as a new Holier-Than-Thou politician, MAGA Mike Johnson of Louisiana, enters the national spotlight, another one bows out. Good riddance, Mike Pence! Yesterday, at the Jewish Nazi Coalition in Las Vegas— after the kind of warlike Zionist speech you’d expect from Pence— he surprised the appreciative audience by saying “the Bible tells us there’s a time for every purpose under heaven and traveling across the country over the past 6 months I came here to say it’s become clear to me this is not my time. So after much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to suspend my campaign for president, effective today.”
His campaign never caught on for the most obvious of reasons. The MAGAts hate him because they see him as betraying Trump’s demand that he help overturn the 2020 election while the non-MAGAts in the GOP saw him as a 4-year Trump water-carrier who never voiced a word of opposition to Trump’s mania.He wouldn’t have qualified for the third debate and that’s likely at least part of what triggered the announcement yesterday.
DeSantis, a fully-scripted clod, spoke right after him and didn’t even mention anything about what Pence had just done. When Nikki Haley got up to speak, she called Pence “a good man of faith. He’s been a good man of service. He has fought for America and he has fought for Israel. We all owe him a debt of gratitude.” Tim Scott, like Pence a charlatan and snake oil salesman, and is likely to also dropout before the Iowa caucuses, said “The Vice President has been a prayer partner, a friend, and a man of integrity and deep conviction. The Republican Party is stronger today because of Mike’s leadership.”’
It’s going to be interesting watching Pence give testimony next March in Trump’s sedition trial. That’s probably another reason he had to drop out. I’m guessing the MAGAts aren’t going to like what he has to say. When Larry Elder suspended his make believe campaign Friday, he endorsed Señor Trumpanzee. I don’t imagine Pence doing any such thing. Pence denounced the kind of neo-fascist populism Trump is all about and the two of them differ on abortion (Pence wants it to not exist and Trump doesn’t care one way or the other), Ukraine (Pence is a hawk and Trump is a Putin ally) and social welfare programs (Pence would like to abolish Social Security and Medicare and Trump fears that kind of action would hurt his popularity with the proles).
