Sunday Thoughts:
Donald J. Trump is more than just a patron saint of the "Jews Will Not Replace Us" Party. In addition, he is its Pope and Republican National Cult leader. If that wasn't evident when he was handed the nomination of his party back in 2016, it was by the time that he gathered all of his party's leaders in the Rose Garden to kiss his ring in celebration of the disastrous Trump/Ryan 2017 Tax Scam early in the following year. Here are just four of the typical quotes from Trump's assemblage of made men and women who pretend to be our representatives as they fawned all over him the way he in turn fawns all over Vladimir Putin. It was a blowfest.
Moscow Mitch McTraitor started the grotesque festivities off with what amounted to an entire necklace of his pearls of wisdom saying:
"This has been a year of extraordinary accomplishment for the Trump administration. We’ve cemented the Supreme Court to the right of center for a generation. Mr. President, thanks to your nominees we put 12 circuit court judges in place; the most since the circuit court system was established in 1891. You hold the record."
Then came Paul Crazy Eyes Ryan himself:
"Something this big, something this generational, something this profound could not have been done without exquisite presidential leadership."
Exquisite? Exquisite presidential leadership? Paul Ryan is one fucked up mess. What Republicans call "Exquisite presidential leadership" is right up there with "Legitimate political discourse." The first begat the second and I have no doubt that that suits Ryan and all those other sycophants just fine.
Here's Tennessee (say no more!) Rep Diane Black:
"I want to say thank you to Mr. President. Thank you, President Trump, for allowing us to have you as our president and to make America great again."
Wow, you have the best words, Ms. Black. Sterling stuff! Did you come up with that all by yourself? The fact is that if I came from Tennessee, I'd be torn between letting her leave the state to represent me in such an embarrassing way or letting her leave and making sure she would be refused reentry at the border if she tried to return. It's a moot point right now since she's left Congress. Oh, and among other things, she blames school shootings on pornography.
And finally, the insipid Ex-$enator Orrin Hatch:
"You’re living up to everything I thought you would. You’re one heck of a leader. Look at all the things that he’s been able to get done, by sheer will in many ways. I just hope that we all get behind him every way we can. This presidency could be the greatest presidency we have seen not only in generations but maybe ever."
What a piece of work! All of them! Trump is indeed their Dear Leader in every way. Just ask them, they'll tell you.
